Drawing Ideas for Kids

This is a quick video of Chris Van Allsburg creator of The Polar Express, Jumanji, and other amazing books for children.  In the video, he gives a really cool easy drawing idea that connects to Jumanji.  The idea would be great for a project using the book in art class or the regular classroom. This is super cool!  Dav Pilkey draws Dog Man and explains it is the first character he created! I have been working with kindergartners a lot this year.  The students are learning to hold pencils and create letters.  For each letter they are learning we play a drawing game and hide the letter.  The kids love finding the letter after the picture is drawn.

I created this quick, fun drawing tutorial.  Using the same technique, you can get all kinds of cool drawing ideas. There is an amazing World War I story about ships being painted using a technique similar to the trick used in this video.  It may have actually helped to win the war.  I plan on posting the story on this site.
